Don't forget the Academy of Sciences in Golden Gate Park. Lots of shops and restaurants up and down Irving Street to go along with places mentioned below.

I live in the Central Richmond district and have been here for many years.

It's near Golden Gate Park and Ocean Beach and has the Geary corridor with businesses and Restaurants and Clement street also has a plethora of Restaurants and shops.

Also it is pretty family friendly with community centers and playgrounds for all.

There is the Legion of Honor; De Young Musuem; Japanese Tea Garden; Art Museum (etc); and so much more.

It is little wonder that single family homes sell in just one day!

If you have children in ballet lessons, Ballet Russe and the San Francisco Ballet are in your neighborhood. There is a plethora of churches for worship and fellowship. There are good restaurants and shops along Geary and Clement Street. If you are a Trader Joes fan, it isn't so far to drive to Masonic and Geary to shop there.

If you are a commuter this is a great place to be. You are close to the 38 Muni bus line that runs all day and night to downtown SF and Ocean Beach. You are also near the 29 Sunset bus line which can take you to San Francisco State University and Candlestick Park. Culture-wise, you are near lots of mom-and-pop businesses run by Russian or Chinese immigrants. Lots of families live in this area and there are plenty of places to eat around. For recreation, you are near a couple of parks and a short drive to Baker Beach.
