Kc, Home Buyer in Austin, TX

What are some nice but medium priced neighborhoods for a young couple to move to in Orlando? Thinking about buying a full duplex.

If you are looking for a multi-unit property and plan to live in one, Deland is a fantastic town between Orlando and Daytona beach. Lots of historic homes there which are multiunit. Stetson University enrollment grew 30 % last year, so there is a good market for tenants. Places are also inexpensive compared to areas closer to Orlando. Location is about 45-50 minutes from Orlando, 25 min from beach.

Look around in downtown Orlando, and Winter Park as well.

Hi KC,
you will be hard pressed to find bad choices as there are so many great options through Central FL. Not knowing your preferred price range, I do say this with a cautionary note but Winter Park does have many affordable options especially with short sales in the area and Dr. Philips and Windermere, as well as Lake Nona, Baldwin Park, and Thorton Park are some others to consider. If you aren't looking for tourist like towns you may want to skip Celebration as it is Disney town but offers great homes and a good community feel as well.

Hi everyone,

We're already working with a realtor and not even ready to move yet. We're in the planning in what areas, neighborhoods are we interested in. I don't know that we want downtown but definitely not the suburbs...somewhere in between...probably NOT the Disney area with more character and not so much commercialism. Really like the older homes of Winter Park, but I think that area might be too pricey for us.

My wife and I have purchased two duplexes over the past two years and so I keep a close eye on the market. I'd be happy to help you with your search if you are interested.

There are quite a few. You would need to detemine how close to the city cenrter you would like to be, and a price range, and I could start a search for you to see whats out there.
