What are my obligations regarding disabled tenant in upstate Ny that is renting our single family?

We live in Colorado. our realtor-agent showed our house in ny to a family that has a physically challenged child in wheelchair. This family signed a 1 year lease to rent the house. There is only 1 full bathroom in the house -- upstairs. We are being told to install a shower in the downstairs 1/2 bath for this individual. This house was not a good choice for the family to begin with, given their needs. What can we do
