What are good, safe, dry semi-rural communities/areas in southeast Florid?

Asked by nowilla, Davie, FL Sun Jun 9, 2013

We are considering relocating to southeast Florida to be closer to family (Ft. Lauderdale.) Currently we live in the country on 5 acres in a neighborhood of similar sized properties. We would like to find a low crime area that has homes on 1 acres around an hour's drive from Ft. Lauderdale. Any suggestions of towns/areas/subdivisions to begin researching?

There is still to build a brand new home (2013 construction code) in Davie on almost an acre of land, giving you the best of both worlds having that country like feel, plenty of space, yet have shopping and highways close by in three different directions. Check out http://www.woodbridgeindavie.com.

I am a Realtor and a resident of a 3 acres home in Davie, FL, for onver 18 years, so if you are looking for acreage I am the right person to talk to, there a few areas that would have the products you are looking for but not many.
Call or email me with any observations I am sure I can help you from Real Estate information to what type of water wells we have here and etc.....

Hello!

We have some wonderful communities of acreage properties within an hour of Ft. Lauderdale. To name a few... Southwest Ranches, Davie, Plantation Acres, and Cooper City. All of these communities have a rural feel to them, some more than others.

I have a new listing in Plantation Acres, if you would like to look at the photos, I have attached the Trulia link....let me know if you would like additional information on this or any other property.

I live in Davie and work in Plantation, both have homes that fit your criteria! Davie has a monthly Rodeo and miles of horse trails. Southwest Ranches is a City that has acre+ homesites and a rural country feel. These three cities are only 30 minutes from Ft. Lauderdale.

By "dry" I assume you are talking about flooding? 9.99 feet above sea level is pretty good for here. Each neighborhood is different regarding high water.

Feel free to contact me about neighborhood information.

Hi! Nowilla

There are a few areas in Broward County that fit your description, Southwest Ranches, Sunshine Ranches, Plantation Acres and certian areas in Davie and Cooper City are approximately 20 to 30 minutes from Fort Lauderdale. If you would like to be further away there is an area of Parkland that fits this descripption. Please send me your email and I will send you listings.

Thank you

Hello!

"Dry" is out of the question! We are in the tropics in the summertime it will rain and rains a lot.
Good news is that Florida building codes are the strictest in the country, Looking for acre plus properties close to Ft Lauderdale is no problem depending on your budget.
Feel free to contact me for more specifics, and details.
