I grew up in Arl Hts and also just moved back here with husband and child to raise our family. So many areas to love, scarsdale, stonegate, sherwood, the hana district, all have their positive points. Would love to go further into discussion with you as there is much to talk about. Please contact me if you have any further questions. crabtree_60004@yahoo.com, Karen
Arlington Heights offers many great options in literally all price points under $200k-$1million+.
What price range did you want to be in? You can find excellent locations, schools, parks, etc. in all price points.
STONEGATE is VERY DESIREABLE. It is completely family oriented. Close to schools, great social network within the neighborhood; lots of activities planned throughout the year for both adults and children. Homes built early 1900s alongside 60s splits and various versions of the colonial.
As Bill said, it's hard to choose and area because they're are so many. I went to high school in 60014, but have lived in AH for 30 years. The schools, public and private are excellent, as is the park district. It's a walkable town with a parks in every neighborhood. The Pioneer Park area is a favorite-on the west side of AH road, because of the easy access to Pioneer and Cronin Parks, Westgate and Wayside, downtown and the library. It's an area filled with kids. You'll love the easy access to transportation in AH, from any neighborhood, and traffic is less congested than so many other towns.
You really cannot go wrong anywhere in Arlington Heights. Schools are usually what are deemed desireable. Scarsdale is a very sought after area with great schools. Close to 90 and Woodfield. On the north end, Northgate and Ivy Hill are wonderful areas and great schools. Again, it's difficult to name just those because truly, almost all areas of Arlington Heights are very kid friendly and very good neighborhoods.
