Laid back, peaceful, most delightful place to live! I own a home on Indian River Dr and rarely have to take car out of garage! Walk or ride bike to just about anything I need! Florida could easily deem Sebastian as Florida's most friendly small town!

Sebastian has many parks which include playground equipment, a childrens splash pool near the river, nature trails, sports, fishing and boating to name a few of the attractions for kids. There are excellant schools in Sebastian so your son would be able to get a good education. The major book stores are in Vero Beach but there is a used book store on Route 1 in Sebastian. The environmental learning center near the Wabasso causeway has some nice activities. Depending on your interests, there should be plenty to do together. Don Wright

Sebastian is a nice, quiet and very family oriented town. I lived in Miami & Broward for 16 years and have relocated to Indian River County and have never regretted the move. Vero Beach is a little more active community than Sebastian in the sense that all the main stores are located there. Indian River Mall and the Vero Beach Outlet are some examples. The beach at Vero has a nice Boardwalk.

I lived in Vero Bch for about 6 months and then moved to Sebastian as Vero was getting a little crowded. Anyways, Sebastian is 15-20 min away and whenever I want to go shopping or to the movies I drive to either Vero or Melbourne which is 30 minutes away. So mainly it depends if you want to be steps away from everything and have a little traffic or if you don't mind traveling a little and live in a more peaceful place.

Hi, Sebastian is a beautiful and quiet town. Businesses in Sebastian tend to be family owned and operated. Vero Beach, however, only about a 15 minute drive from Sebastian is much more commercialized. There are many youth programs in Vero. One excellent camp that I actually attended when I was little and enjoyed thoroughly was an adventure-religious type camp called 'Life For Youth Ranch'. People send there kids from all over the state to attend. There is an overnight and a day camp program and they take all ages. It was so much fun and my siblings and I still talk about it!

Let me know if I can be of further assistance. But I think you would really enjoying living in Sebastian. It is a beautiful place with simple pleasures.
