delinquent morgage was left on our door. We also found out that the taxes are behind. Should we make arrangements to leave and stop paying the 1600 a month?
Judy,
I will also stress that you secure a real estate attorney, ASAP. It was advised that you stop paying your rent ... I have heard that you must continue to pay rent, and I've also heard of the establishment of an account and paying into that, as someone else suggested.
Fact is, none of us real estate professionals can provide you legal advice ... we are simply giving you our opinion. You MUST get legal counsel, ASAP.

Judy,
You do need to speak with an attorney, or call free legal aid. You will be advised how to proceed. In these circumstances, you can continue to pay your rent so that your credit does not get messed up (an important number because he is used for so many things -- insurance premiums . . . ) but will probably be advised to pay it into a special bank account. The legal advisor will tell you how to proceed. So glad that you are aware of Trulia and can ask questions such as these and get advice. Below is a legal aid for your consideration.
