Gsteve55, Home Owner in Fort Lauderdale, FL

We are considering relocation from Florida and want info on lifestyle and the current buying market.....

We are an active, outdoor-oriented couple who love cycling and snowboarding and want a more serene and friendly living environment. We have two dogs and no kids. What is life like there? How about the town of Bozeman---is there enough going on? Proximity to the slopes? Our price range would be $400,000 to $650,000 and we would want new or newer construction. Thanks for any guidance or info you can pass along!

I have spent some quality time in Florida experiencing the different activities and what it has to offer, it was beautiful. Here in Bozeman, Montana we have activities throughout the entire year. Winter is complete with ice fishing, skiing, snowmobiling, snow shoeing, hiking, etc. The Spring, Summer and Fall is a breathtaking time to be outdoors every day enjoying, biking, hiking, fishing, boating and dining outdoors. Bozeman offers a well renown college- MSU, fabulous dining, historic downtown of quaint shops, several public events, and is minutes away from Yellowstone National Park. My husband and I spent last summer cycling in YNP, it was amazing. If you have any other questions or concerns, please don't hesitate to ask.

Bozeman is well located at the foot of the Bridger Mountain Range and surrounded by the Rocky Mountains. For outdoor enthusiasts, Bozeman will provide a new adventure every day. Whether it is world class skiing (Big Sky Resort, Moonlight Basin, Yellowstone Club, all less than an hour from Bozeman or a local's favorite... Bridger Bowl, less than 20 minutes from Bozeman), white water sports (kayaking, rafting) excellent fly fishing (Madison, Gallatin, Yellowstone, Jefferson rivers) the options are endless.

As far as the community scene, Bozeman hosts the Hatch Festival & Sweet Pea festival every year, the Bite of Bozeman closes our main street on warm summer evenings (as does Music on Main) and we enjoy the sounds of the Bozeman Symphony, The Montana Ballet Company and live plays inside the Ellen Theater. Our community supports the arts, whether it is for school kids (Bozeman High School's Marching Band marched in the Rose Bowl Parade in 1999) or our community (Jack Horner resides in Bozeman and works in our Museum of the Rockies) there is always something to do! Bozeman is also home to Montana State University, providing a lively youth culture.

The budget you proposed will provide you with a nice home in Bozeman. Depending on your location you could purchase a home on a couple of acres or a fine home in a growing subdivision. As of today, with over 2,060 properties currently offered on our market, the average list price is $584,802. With a budget as you described you would be able to purchase an above average home with higher end finishes.

Hopefully this helps, we would love to have you here!

Bozeman is wonderful. If you love outdoor sports this is your place. In the winter we snowboard, snowmobile, snowshoe, and in the summers we float the rivers. Bozeman is a very friendly town, and the majority of us are transplants from larger cities. Bozeman has a lot of community events for its size. I grew up near Seattle and I will never look back. There is a builder in town that I do a lot of new construction with. His website is take a look. If you are in this area anytime soon I would be happy to direct you to restaurants and great ski spots.
