Thinking about moving to Portsmouth. We want a residential area with a decent amount of property. Budget 400K. Should we focus on a particular area?

With your budget being 400k you would want to concentrate away from downtown in that price range.
There are quite a few nice areas that would work for you. If you need help I would love to send you some listings to view so you can familiarize yourself with the areas and prices.

Thank you,

The Elwyn Park area is a great neighborhood with homes between $280K -$400K. Close to schools and shopping. Greanland is another nice area within your budget that may give you a bit more land but farther from town. Please feel free to give me a call 603-944-7288 and I would be glad to show you or email you properties in the area.

Hi Stephanie,

Yes if you go to City Data and type it the neighborhood it should bring up the stats of each and the streets they consist of, for example:

Hope that helps

Hi Stephanie,

Great question, I live in Portsmouth myself and LOVE it here. Downtown is beautiful and there are wonderful neighborhoods that are fantastic for children while still close to the culture of downtown.

The Woodlands is nice, Tuckers Cove, The Little Harbor District

Also schools may play a role, feel free to call or email me anytime if you have any questions, I can send you some listings in your price range if you would like- I don't think you can really go wrong in Portsmouth as it is wonderful here.

We'd like to be close to conveniences but not too close to our neighbors. A bike-friendly neighborhood would be good. I'd like a charming home with character, but with recent upgrades. We have small children and can't invest the time in house renovations. Close to the ocean would be fantastic. Major traffic arteries are not so important. Thanks!

Hi Stephanie,

There are a variety of great homes available in your price range in Portsmouth. The area you should focus on really depends on what you are looking for.

Would you like to be close to Portsmouth's downtown with shopping, nightlife, and restaurants?
Are you looking for a historic home or newer construction?
Close to the Ocean?
Are the major traffic arteries important?

If you would like assistance in your home buying please give me a call. I would be happy to help you.
