There is an empty store near me with a for rent sign but no # to call. How do I find out who the owner is?

Go to your County Appraisers website and look up the address of the property. Define who the owner is and then go to a site like http://www.phonenumber.com and put in the information to locate a #

Check with your city or county tax assessor's office. Either in person or, very often, online. Property ownership is a matter of public record. You'll be able to obtain both the name and address (and sometimes the phone number) of the owner of record.
