Tell me about Tucker

Hello, I am new here. I am planning on moving to the Atlanta area this fall and want to be in Decatur, but have been looking into Tucker, as it seems one can find more home for less money. Can anyone tell me the "good" areas where I should be looking? I saw some nice places in SmokeTree but the schools seem iffy. Specifics: $200-$275 range, 3-4BR. Safety is key! Not sure how long we'll be in the area, but schools are a consideration (I have a 4mo old). Also any info on taxes/COL would be great!! Thanks so much!!

Tucker is a nice area suburb of Atlanta. It is a mixture of retail, suburbs, office and light industrial. It has good access to downtown Atlanta via Stone Mountain Freeway and 285 to 85. It is a bit older community but there is still some new construction. In the Tucker area the Livsey Elementary school district is a good one and also Henderson Mill. Taxes are usually about 1.25per 1000 of the value of the house.

If you would like some more information or have questions please call me or email me.
