Suggestion on Great Family N'Hood & Great Schools - Ft Collins, Windsor, Greeley

We are a family of 5 with three boys ages 3, 5, 8 and potentially moving to the Ft. Collins area (the potential employer will be in Windsor) and I'm trying to get a better sense of pros/cons of Ft. Collins vs Windsor vs Greely.

We know Ft Collins is a widely recognized as a terrific place to raise a family but are a bit concerned about the size (pop. 122,000?). Overally, for these three towns what are the very best elementary and middle schools and what are the more desirable n'hoods - especially those w/lots of kids running around (safely!), friendly outgong n'boors, etc.?

Our target home is a 5 BR with at least 4000 sq ft and below $900K.

Hi Leanne,
Fort Collins has been voted #1 as the best place to live in Colorado for many reasons. Fort Collins is a great city with all the amenities that you could ever need but still has the small friendly feel of many neighboring towns. Fort Collins schools are rated with much higher SAT scores than Windsor and Greeley.
Windsor is a neighboring community only 20 minutes from Fort Collins and is considered a "bedroom community" A smaller city with a small town feel. Windsor has experienced phenomenal growth because of it’s schools but unfortunately grew a bit too fast for the school system. Though, because of this growth they are building a new Jr High to accommodate.

Another area you may want to consider is Severance just 15 minutes from Fort Collins, and there are plans for a new Jr High, High School and Elementary in the next year. Severance, like Windsor, also has they small town feel.

I hope this is helpful. You can check further details and information at http://www.JustListedColorado.com. There is a School Reports section thats easy to utilize and feature to search homes in the area under Find A Home.

Warmest Regards,
Lori
