Suburbs with good schools

Asked by terralinder, Jersey City, NJ Wed Aug 15, 2012

We currently live in Paulus Hook, which I am smitten with but our kids are getting to the age where good school districts are most important. If we could afford them to be in private school we'd go that route but I think the suburbs is our best option. We will get more space, better schools, and a yard. Can you tell me where it is charming, great schools, still has things going on in the town, and culturally diverse if possible all the while in the budget of $3200 a month for a 3 bedroom?

I live in Maplewood, which is a great little town, with a village center, and good commute options including a Jitney Shuttle. Let me know if you need help finding something for yourself!
