San Jose area for young professional

Asked by Mob_obaid, Wed Jun 20, 2012

What is a good part of San Jose for a single 29 year old guy. I am looking for a safe area which is close to good bars, restaurants and a budget of around 2K?

Thanks for all the suggestions. Definitely looking at Downtown SJ and close to Santana Row. What are the resources that I can use just to get an idea of the rental properties available? I am using Yelp, apartmentratings and craigslist but there seems to be a lot of difference between users with safety being a common complaint.

I think Willow Glen is a great community, It's in the middle of most places and a short drive to others. It's a quiet well established neighborhood and you don't need to deal with the noisiness and traffic that goes into the others.

The areas the other agents have pointed out are very good. What you should do is drive around Down Town Campbell, Los Gatos, Santana Row, Down Town San Jose and Willow Glen. Then check for the rentals in the area and see what you can afford that will meet your needs.

Depending on what you expect to get for $2000 a month here are the areas which may get you your bars and restaurants.

Downtown San Jose
Santana Row "Area" which is Campbell
Downtown Campbell
Willow Glen

Then outside of San Jose if you can find it. Los Gatos

All these areas have good walking scores.

I like downtown Campbell a lot also, 95008, where you can walk to the restaurants and downtown. That feels more single guy-like than some of the others!

Don't forget downtown San Jose!
There are rentals on and off the Alameda and around the Shark Tank that provide a fantastic opportunity to see and be seen. Contact me if you need a property management resource who may be able to help you find the perfect swinging singles pad.

Good Luck!

Assuming you're spending 2k/mo on a good rental, West San Jose area may be a good fit for you, zip codes such as 95117, 95129. It's bordering Cupertino, Campbell, and very close to Santana Row & Valley Fair Shopping Mall, where you shall easily find good bars, restaurants and other amenities. Another zip code is 95125, the prestigious San Jose Willow Glen area. Still another zip code 95008 Campbell, though not in San Jose but surrounded by, the Pruneyard area in Campbell has plenty what you're looking for.
