It sounds like you may be best looking in Winchester, West Medford and possibly Belmont to meet your needs. These communities offer the commuter rail to the city or if you wish to drive there are "back roads" to get you into town with minimal traffic. You may want to watch your commute into Boston if you go to deep into the North Shore.
I relocated from CT to Boston some years ago and I wish I had someone to show me the area and provide me with the local knowledge. Please let me know how I can help!

Send me a personal message as I would love to read your wine blog as I consider myself quite the wine enthusiast

From my experience, in working with many relocation clients, I found most will lease a place for 6 months to a year prior to buying so that they can familiarize themselves with the area. I've worked with many clients who chose Newton and Brookline for the school system as well as Cambridge. Your budget may limit your options or the size of the home.. Hope this helps, and if you would like me to help please feel free to call me at 617-990-2316 or e mail me at msilva@jacobrealty .com.
town that we can enjoy. A friendly neighborhood that we can mingle and sip wine with. Oh and a great school system. . I think that about covers it.
