I know a number of good real estate attorneys and great CPAs, being a "recovering CPA" myself. The questions one needs to ask are "How sophisticated of an investor are you?" and "How much are you willing to pay?"
Each of these will determine the individual/firm with whom/which you should be working. Answer with "I'm buying my first single residence investment property, and may buy 3 or so more" and you can probably get away with an individual CPA. Tell me you are going to buy numerous multi-unit properties and I will suggest someone working for a firm, so you get the benefit of multiple minds. If you are looking for someone charging $100 an hour, that is going to get you a very different quality of workmanship and expertise than the ones which charge $250 an hour plus.
