Parsippany to Midtown commute

Asked by Hklar, Parsippany, NJ Tue Feb 2, 2010

Considering buying a home in the Parsippany area. I see Lakeland has regular bus service to the PA, which is great as I work in midtown. How are the park and ride lots in the area? Do they fill up very early? Is there any cost? Also, on Lakeland's site they show a Rt. 80 bus that goes express to the PA. Anyone know where that bus stop is located?

Here are some current park and ride lots in Parsippany:
1. newest is Rt 46 east of Waterview Blvd intersection...this added over 200 spots (free)
2.Smithfield Park lot (rt 46 and Baldwin rd)
3.Beverwyck rd lot (rt 46 & Beverwyck rd)
4. Arlington Plaza

Lakeland Bys Company phone (973) 366-0600
You might also consider the 10-15 min ride east in rt 46 to the Willowbrook Mall park and ride in Wayne

I do not commute, but I am sure someone will come along who can give you a more personal opinon of the ride!.

Good luck!

Hi Hklar,
I am a Parsippany Resident for the past 30 years and a Realtor for the last 17yrs. Parsippany is a wonderful community, excellent commuter town with Great schools and Parks.
Please visit the Lakeland Bus web site @ for the most upto date info. or call 973-366-0600 website for bus & Midtown direct train info.. there are maps and printable schedules on line. 800--234-path for Path info..There are several different lots in town. You may need a sticker from the town to park. I am not sure if there is a small fee for Parsippany residents or it may be free. 973-263-4350 is the Municipal Building number.. they will be able to answer any specific requests or contact 973-267-7600

feel free to call me at 201-919-0212 cell or e-mail Pat Novak I would be happy to

There are many choices from Parsippany. I live in a comuter community called Hunting Ridge.
The lakeland bus goes to midtown in about an hour. Downtown in about an hour and twenty.
Midtown direct train from Towaco station is about an hour with stops.
Many Parsippany residents drive to Willowbrook or Harrison and take the express bus or Path.
A few even drive daily to Hoboken and take the ferry!
Any way Parsippany is a great centrally located communtiy with good schools, and quality of life.
Good luck in your search, Marvin Crane
