Flooding isn’t often for the area. I live and work not far from La Marque, I would suggest talking with a very good Realtor in the Area that could show you properties in communities that typically don’t flood (I could recommend a few if you would like). The average elevation for the area is 15 feet and the Hurricane Flood Protection Levee is 23 feet. For a reference, the flood of 1900 that decimated Galveston surged to 14.5 feet in Galveston and in 2008 we had Ike. Ike had up to 20 feet of storm surge around Bolivar Peninsula and Galveston Bay.
