Moving to Fort Lauderdale from Detroit

My company is going to have another branch in Fort Lauderdale, FL in Sept. My boss would like my colleague and I both go down there with him for the new business development. Currently he hasn't mention anything about salary adjustment but we did some research and knew the living cost is much higher than where we are now in Detroit.
Is anyone can give us some suggestions about the areas in Fort Lauderdale my colleagues and I should look for. My colleague and I plan to buy a house / townhouse together, both of us are females and in early 30s so we would like to stay in a safe area with the house conditions are worry free, and the price range is around 300K. And, of course we want to be close to everything, like restaurant, mall, highway and fun area. ^^ We prefer 3bd and at least 21/2 bath.
We have never been to Fort Lauderdale so that your opinion and suggestion are highly appreciated!!
Thank you~~

Hello Tina,

Fort Lauderdale is a great city and I am sure you will love it here. A few recomendations I would make would be Coral Ridge, Victoria Park, Shady Banks, Sailboat Bend, Croissant Park and Wilton Manors. All of these areas are close to shopping, the beach, and downtown. I would be happy to send you a list of townhomes that matches your criteria along with some helpfull information in the mail. My office is located on Las Olas in Fort Lauderdale and I would be happy to show you homes and assist you in your relocation. I can be reached at horton.g@ewm.com. I look forward to hearing from you.
