Yes, one important thing is that they have one of the highest school taxes in York County. If I remember correctly only York City has a higher tax rate but the cost of the homes are much lower in the City so in reality Mt Wolf (Northeastern York) has the highest taxes in York County. Keep in mind that as other School Districts build new Schools, Northeastern may no longer be the highest if this happens. On the other hand, their High School is getting old and new construction is still relatively high so they may also need a new school soon. I lived there for a few years and it is a nice community.
In my opinion, some of the new home communities are not building what I consider high quality homes. I DO recommend Brentwood Builders who is building in Chestnut Valley. Also, S&A Homes (http://www.sahomebuilder.com) recently acquired some building rights at Rolling Meadows at Rentzel Farm Rolling Farm. I know people who have built with both builders and are happy with them. Northeastern does not have a Varsity Football program at this time. They are in the process of starting a privately funded football team. I believe the JV team has started. Should they run short on funds, I do not know what the future of their football program would be. Wed May 7 2008, 18:55

Joann,
Welcome to the area! South Central PA is a world away from the bustle of big towns in NJ and NY, but the trade off is peace and quiet, awesome sunsets, and a great cost of living! If you would be interested in having coffee when you are in town to learn more about the area, don't hesitate to call me. I'm happy to share my knowledge of the area with you. Visit my web site athttp:// www.HomesInYorkCountyPA.com for local information, restaurants, current listings, and more. Let me know if I can assist you in any way during your relocation. --Tina Llorente Sun Jan 27 2008, 11:23
