Hi Stu -

As Lottie already stated, craigslist.org is a good place to check several times a day because rentals are scarce and go quickly.

Although my main career focus is listing and selling real estate I do occasionally have rental listings and represent renters in leases.

If you are interested, I can set you up at no charge on the multiple listing service's automated email system. It will deliver rental listings with your desired criteria as soon as they come on the market. If you find something you're interested in , i can show you it to you, write and negotiate the offer for you. There is no cost to you for this service. My commission is paid by the seller for listings in the MLS.

The most important thing for owners of rental property is a tenant's credit report. Next is income. Then job and references. If you have rented before you may be aware of all of this.

If this service is something that you would like to discuss further, please call me at (650) 454-7787 or email me at RSVP2Robin@gmail.com.

Thanks. I look forward to hearing from you.

Best advice: keep checking Craig's list on a daily basis, and be ready to check out any and all possibilities the minute they come on. Have your information at hand (personal, business and rental references, bank account info, credit history if available) Rentals are in high demand and go quickly. Broaden your areas if possible; check out Redwood Shores, San Mateo, Redwood City; consider both a townhouse as well as single family homes.

Best wishes with your search,
Lottie

Thanks for the great and prompt advice Lottie. I've been checking CL constantly and have noticed how tight the market is in the area. I've got 2 kids at Carlmont HS so my geographic area is tight. Hoping more options start showing up soon. Wish me luck , looks like I might need a little !
