I do not have any crime statistics available, but there is a website that you can look up an address and it will give you an over view of a particular area. Go to http://www.homefacts.com

The Emerald Coast is a well kept secret. Crime is very low despite what some blogs seem to tell. The area is actually very small and family oriented

What kind of crime are you referring to? I come from Miami where crime is an every day thing. Here, it is a once in a while occurance and usually has to do with drugs. If you are not a gang member or into drugs, you have little, and I mean little chance of any kind of crime happening to you. In fact, the worst that has happened to me personally in 17 years is my unlocked car was rifled through in the night once. I have left my garage door open, nothing. Crime just isn't a problem here. There may be some minor shop lifting, things like that, but no dangerous crime.

If you are planning to move to the area, I can help you find what you are looking for, give me a call. 850-830-5541

Erin,

Go Bucks!! I moved here from Springfield Ohio in 1997. I absolutely love it here.

Destin as a whole is a very safe community. We do have over 3.5 Million visitors during the course of the year, but crime as a whole is minimal, and usually nothing ever too serious.

Fort Walton Beach does have a little more crime, just based on the fact it is a much larger community, not as much tourism, and has a larger population.

Niceville was voted the "Best Community to Raise a Family" in the entire State of Florida.

Not sure if you are coming here on vacation, or are wanting to purchase a vacation home/condo, but our area as a whole is fantastic.

Have a great day and please let me know if you need anything further. I can be contacted at 850-621-3247 or you can check out my website, http://www.KenKogerSellsNWF.com.

I couldn't say that crime is a "problem" either year-round or seasonally. It's very safe here and if you follow common sense rules (lock your car, etc.) then you'll be in good shape. Occasionally you hear about a break-in in West Destin, or that someone has stolen someones stuff on the beach (when they leave it alone and go for a long walk)... but all in all you're not going to experience crime like you do in Ohio.
