Sometimes (and it is often rare), when a client asks for a home with specific criteria such as a particular school there might be 'precious few' considerations to send you. Then the agent could send you other listings so the plate doesn't seem so empty. I believe that all agents want to do a good job.... But you see, now as a client you don't feel like the agent is 'hearing you'. It is always best to stick to the client's wants... Down the line if there are no other properties that you like I might suggest other areas, but if you resisted, I could get the message. It's like the commercial where the guy says "Don't show me any RANCHES"... I won't send you any Ranches.

United States Department Of Agriculture http://www.resales.usda.gov/
North Carolina HUD homes for sale http://easternncmls.com/nUnited%20States%20Department%20Of%2
VA Homes for sale http://www.ocwen.com/reo/residential/res_reofindbystate.cfm?
You should then contact few banks ask for the department that is handling foreclosures and ask them to put you on their mailing list. Some have it some don't but if they do they will be mailing you updates to your door every month.
Buying a foreclosed property is very risky, you should be very careful and try to find out as much as possible about the property. Foreclosed properties are NOT necessary the best deals especially in the market like we are experiencing today. Get your self a buyer agent that will advise you properly and chances are you will find a seller that is just ready to sell.
Good Luck
