Cheryl,
Yes, there are communities that are not gated in this area. It is also important to know what kind of amenities if any you are looking for, the size, price range and type of home you would like and when you will be ready to purchase. Also keep in mind that we have some active 55+ communities that may offer more amenities if that is something you would like.. With this information I'm sure I can help you find a property that will meet your needs and price point..
Please feel free to contact me if you have any questions or need more information.
Thank you for your inquiry, I look forward to meeting and working with you.

Hi Cheryl,
Absolutely you can find a lovely home in a non-gated community. There is something for everyone here to match all types of lifestyles. Having moved from the Northeast more than ten years ago, a day does not go by that we aren't mesmerized by beautiful sunny days and bright blue skies. This is the best next thing to living in the Caribbean. Make the move!

The key, I think, to answering your question is: What size home site are you looking for?

Areas of Florida platted before about 1995 tend to have larger home sites. Those built after 95 tend to be zero lot line and if over about 2,500 square feet will be 2 story. The exception are our Dedicated Equestrian areas where homes sit on 1.25 acres and have a rural feel.

The gated community idea is a very new concept except in the case of Premier Club Communities.

Can you give more details?

Richard

Hi Cheryl,
I live and work in Boca Raton and do not live in a gated community and enjoy the freedom. There is a nice entrance and we have a low voluntary HOA. Happy Searching and if you would like a rate quote please feel free to price me out or ask questions.

Dear Cheryl,

There are many homes in communities that have that "gated" feel without the HOA's and guard gates. You'll have several thoroughout Palm Beach County, from Boca Raton, Boynton Beach, Wellington, all the way to Jupiter. A good start is seeing what areas you like most.

Feel free to call or email Linda@LindaBassitt.com me to give me your home criteria (price, size, etc.) so that I can email you a list of homes.

You can also search my website http://www.LindaBassitt.com for homes for sale (click on "MLS Search") and search by map location, features, etc. in advanced search.

Hi Cheryl!

Of course there are subdivisions without gates and very fine ones in all price ranges.! I've had clients who ONLY wanted to be in a gated community but found their perfect dream home in a non-gated development. And, the reverse is also true in that my clients found perfection in a gated community when they, like you, were not particularly looking to live in one.

My suggestion is to keep an open mind about gated vs non-gated. And,if I can assist you in any way with your search it would be my pleasure to do so.

Hi Cheryl

My parents moved to Florida (from England) to a gated community. When I moved here I didn't really like gated communities but I was able to find something that suited my needs while still being close to my parents. I would be happy to help you. Just let me know more about your criteria.

Security Gates have their advantages and disadvantages. One major advantage is that they usually have discounts for the homeowners insurance

that being said, there are quite a number of great homes available without gates throughout the area.

What are you looking for?
I work with a lot of relocating buyers and could help find the right home for you that is close enough to your daughter to visit but far enough to find your own path as well!

Cheryl,
There are numerous communities (both older and newer) in Boca Raton without any gate entrances. If you dont have a realtor, contact my affiliated partner Guillermo "Bill" Diaz at Homeseller Direct Realty, his toll free number is 877-489-4724, cell is 561-502-0106, and email is Gdiaz@nationalhousingnetwork.com.
