I'd like to get some insight regarding pros/cons of living in Berthoud vs Ft Collins and vs Windsor.

We have 3 young boys (ages 3,5,8) and are moving from Atlanta. Evergreen was our "ideal" but the company that is relocating us is located in Windsor so we are trying to find something close and have been intrigued by what we've read, heard and been told about Ft Collins and Berthoud. Our objective is to find a family friendly neighborhood, a small(er) town feel, great schools, easy access to plentiful outdoor activities (local bike trails, sports fields, etc) and in a safe, inviting environment. Target home would be 5 BR and at least 4,000 sq ft but under $850K.

Thank you!

Windsor is a nice little town. Recently property values have gone down from the insane levels they were just because they were in Windsor. I feel Fort Collins has too much traffic. Berthoud is the nice small town that Windsor once was. This is just my opinion. You might see things differently.

This might be a little late, but since I am not a realtor and did live in both FC and Windor (and even Atlanta many years ago) maybe you'd like an independent opinion - I would pick Windsor. We have two kids and now live near Boulder, but really miss the small town environment. Fourth of July they have fireworks at the city lake with just the town locals, everyone is friendly, and unlike FC, no traffic. Very safe and your only 10 minutes from downtown FC anyway. Take a look at River West and the new communities around them as well as Pelican Lakes - for $850K you can get an incredible house.

Welcome to Colorado! I think Fort Collins would also be an excellent consideration. Fort Collins is approximately 15 minutes from Windsor depending on what part of the towns you would be working/living in.

I would suggest Fort Collins especailly since Fort Collins has, and continues to, receive numerous Awards & Recognitions which can be referenced at; http://fcgov.com/business/demographics.php#awards

Fort Collins also just received an award for 2009 Best Places to Raise Your Kids for the entire State of Colorado which you can viewed at;

I specialize in working with out of state relocation home buyers and like to show clients a sampling of homes and around the towns in the various areas so they can decide what works best for them. If you'd like to discuss this further please feel free to contact me via my website below or call/email me.

Hi there,
Windsor would be the answer to your needs!! Windsor, is a small neighborly town with that small town feel. Windsor has a wonderful recreation department to keep your kiddo’s busy. I have lived in Windsor for 22 years, and feel that there is not a better place to raise a family.

I would be happy to help you in your search for the perfect home for your family. To see some information on demographics and the school systems, feel free to visit http://www.lorilindholm.com/frame.shtml?http://www.onboardna…
I hope this helps.
