Thanks. I'll look up these areas. "Liberal" is just as important, maybe more so, than "artsy." Any blue counties along either coast? Blue cities? Blue towns? I much appreciate your help. I am spending the winter in a small motorhome exploring. (Lots of fun.) Again, I appreciate...

If you are llooking for artsy, St Augustine has a huge art community and is a beautiful historic city with miles of beautiful beaches. (However...it is a red county in a red state...and you can feel that, too!) It is one of the prettiest cities in America and attracts some very interesting people!

Another great artsy liberal community is Thornton Park by the downtown district of Orlando. It is also conveniently located to the Downtown Art District. Here is a great little article by the New York Times about this little piece of heaven and well kept secret of Orlando

Hi Pat, Melbourne has its own "Art" district near the Eau Gallie library which overlooks the river and this area has several galleries that promote our local artists. As a local and a Realtor in Melbourne i would be happy to show you around if you are thinking of moving here and introduce you to the recently improved historic district as well. Please feel free to email me should you require any further information.
