hard to tell. I would think yes, but would like to know for sure. If we purchased a home there, given the cost, I would like to be able to use the house more than 3 months a year. Thanks!
Aileen,
Yes, some of the people who live in Fenwick do live year round - a few of the houses are "seasonal" meaning that they don't have good insulation or central heating systems and are meant to be used only in the summer months - hard to believe that a $1 million plus home would only be used a few months of the year - and yes, some are year around homes that are considered "weekend" homes.
The Fenwick area of Old Saybrook, as you know, is very close to town and other beach communities like Cornfield Point. I'm a runner and usually run from Saybrook Point, across the cause-way, pass the golf course to Jarvis Rd. and find that there are always people walking their dogs, or jogging or biking year-around except for days that are below 30 degrees or windy days.
There are currently three homes for sale in Fenwick, all with oil heat and year-around residences. For further information please give me a call about these or other properties in the area.

I think you are really looking for info. on the Borough of Fenwick in Old Saybrook, CT. Not all homes in Fenwick are year round, but the majority are. It is a beautiful historic area of Old Saybrook, as you must know by driving through. We live in Old Saybrook and enjoy a ride in that area from time to time. My husbands friend's parents live year round in Fenwick and Love it! After all, besides maybe the cost, what is not to love. Amazing views, golf, tennis, privacy, beach and all located in such a friendly New England seacoast community. If you would like any more info. on Fenwick, Old Saybrook or any of the great CT Valley Towns, feel free to email us or even give us a call. That's what we're here for. Enjoy your day!!!
Yes - there are several hundred that live on Fenwick Island year round (I have the statistic as 344 Owner Occupied Homes)- while the tourists swell the population into several thousand in the summer as you know . So, yes, you may certainly use and enjoy your home for more than a few months a year.
