In NJ, tenants do not pay fees to rent through a realtor. The landlord does--typically a month's rent or 10% of a seasonal rental. Don't hesitate to contact a Realtor. It won't cost you a thing! If you are having trouble finding one, call me and I can refer one to you. You will find my contact info at my website, listed in the web reference below. Good Luck!

Try checking out or Check the local newspapers and if you have no luck check with a local real estate office. You will have to pay more fees if you are using a realtor. Good Luck!

Just checking back with you to see if you have completed your search in Mahwah. The homes are terrific, there is a good amount of inventory to choose from and prices have come down a bit. I am familiar with all three towns ( and I live in Mahwah ) so I am happy to help. And, the low interest rates help, too.

Hello Jonathan --- I live and work in Mahwah and there are lots of homes and condos to chose from. Give me a buzz or see my site below. Apartments move quickly here so it is best to run a search the day or day before you want to go...because the availability changes that quickly. Let me know --- my kids go to the public schools in Mahwah and there are lots of REC opportunities here for kids and adults. Let me know how I can help you.... Pamela

Diane, in NJ the tenants DO pay the realtor either a month, or a month and a half depending on a listing agent.

I just ran a quick search and found 17 1 Br rentals in the Towns of Mahwah & Ramsey. If you would like detailed information send me an email at By the way here in Northern NJ the custom is that the tenant pays the fee of 1 month rent of course there may be expections but those are few.
