Lindsey, where is the job located? Do you have any preferences on commute times? I myself live about 15-20 minutes from the downtown area and love going down there, but I like to live a little outside it, as it affords a more "suburban" environment (I have a yard with a ton of trees and all sorts of wildlife, you'd never know I live so close to a downtown environment). One of the great things I love about San Antonio is that despite being a large city, it still feels quiet and secluded depending on where you live. Having lived in both Los Angeles and Philadelphia, I appreciate that about this city, since I love downtown areas, but like to go back to my quiet street to relax at my home. Really your best bet is to call or email a Realtor and have a chat with them about your wants and needs, from there they can help refine your search and help find you an area that suits you perfectly.

Lindsey, it really depends on your price range, or range of affordability, as well as if you'll be leasing, owning, etc. Some areas in town are more suited for the "single life", but some are also more expensive than others. Contact me at stevemalinoff@aol.com, and i'll be happy to give you some guidance.

Hi! Welcome to San Antonio-A Great place to live. Yes down town has some nice condos and loft apts. Personally I recommend Northside along loop 1604, gated communities and check them out in the evenings when residents are at home to see what they are like. Let me know if I can help. Good Luck!!

NOTE: make sure if you sign a lease you have a real estate agent who personally represents you when signing a lease. We answer many calls and emails daily where a tenant signed a lease did not understand the terms.

Lindsey, Live Downtown. San Antonio's Downtown is growing and you can still find good value there. It's much like Downtown Dallas 4 years ago. Feel free to contact me for more specifics.
