Burlington is fortunate to have Fletcher Allen Health Care, a Level 1 Trauma Center and academic teaching hospital located within city limits. The hospital is within a 15 minute drive of most locations in Chittenden County. There are well established Senior Care organizations to also provide assistance including the Champlain Valley Agency on Aging, Home Instead Senior Care, HomeShare Vermont, and the Visiting Nurse Association. Burlington has recently been recognized for the work it is doing to ensure the city is pedestrian friendly for all ages and abilities.
