French Quarter New Orleans Television or Cable

I purchased a condo in New Orleans and I would like to know if regular (free) TV works in the French Quarter or does one need cable. I put the TV on for noise not to watch but I am used to the 'noise' so I need something to listen to-I do not care about the picture quality.

I do not have cable now and really can not imagine paying to 'listen' to TV.

Thanks

A good alternative is getting TV on your computer.

Yes, you can get TV with out cable. May not be the best reception but there are a few channels you can get. Good luck trying.
