Farmers Branch - Brookhaven area listings

Asked by Back In Dfw, Dallas, TX Fri Jun 18, 2010

We are curious why there is a large cluster of homes for sale right around the country club. Is something going on in that particular area?

There is probably no reason for consern. It often happens that way. If you are seriously thinking about buying in the area, walk around and talk to neighbors as you see them. If something bad is happening in the neighborhood, they will tell you if something is going on like an increase in crime, a major road or walmart going in, etc.

GREAT AREA, central location.

Farmers Branch is not a big city, many homes come on the market during "high move season from April - August" I would have no concerns.

This area is having a major Renaissance - especially directly South Forest near Marsh - on the SOuth side of LBJ. There is a lot of renovation going on, major renovations, new builds in this area.

Park Forest is a great buy - I personally feel this neighborhood will increase significantly over the next 5 years with investors rehabbing and remodeling and developers knocking down and building newer more expensive homes on the very large lots with mature trees and exemplary schools.

Just change in population. The people who built those homes and lived there for years are now getting up there in age. Sometimes deaths cause the move, sometimes retirement, sometimes the kids have moved away and the parents no longer need the big house and want to move closer to the kids.

I personally think that area will make a comeback sometime soon, due to the large lots, price range, and location. The areas just to south of 635 have seen great interest the past 2-3 years on the way back up.
