Family friendly neighborhood?

Asked by Wendy_michelle_dick, Arvada, CO Tue Feb 12, 2013

My husband works in South Denver (basically I25 & Yale), and may be working further south at some point. My mom lives in Boulder so I don't want to be too far from her either. I want excellent schools and a relatively affordable neighborhood (our max price is around $350ish). We have two young kids who aren't yet in school, and we're looking for a family friendly neighborhood to move to. Ideally it'd be a place with lots of young kids. Where should we be looking?
Thanks!

Engage a local Agent for help, don't delay as you will not find a suitable property without one. http://www.NaplesRealEstateGuys.com

My website offers lots of neighborhood info and school info is of course included in that. LaneTeamDenver.com Btw, I offer discounts to buyers that need to sell their existing place to move. Let me know how I can help your family.

There are some online sites to give you info on how schools compare such as http://www.schoolview.org/ or a visual mapping at http://schoolperformancemaps.com/co/ . You can also check the local school district for the area you are interested in to get more facts about a particular school. The map view might also help determine what makes sense with your commutes to work and Boulder as well as identifying neighborhood with good schools.

Hi Wendy!
Welcome to SW Denver!
I would highly recommend Cherry Creek School District as they some of the best schools in our beautiful state!
Good family friendly neighborhoods include Walnut Hills, Homestead, Fox Pointe, Mill Creek is transitioning to families from elderly original owners.
In Littleton Public School districts, l would highly recommend SouthPark, Southbridge and Southglenn .
All family friendly with parks, pool with swim team and tennis!
Easy access to C470 to Hwy 93 to Boulder and easy commute to I 25 and Yale, or north to Hwy 36 to Boulder via the turn pike.
Please call me and l would love to show you the best SW places to live and attend school in Centennial and Littleton :)

The SW side of town is a good place to be. You have quick access to C470 which will get you to 6th/93 to go up to Boulder and you can use Hampden and/or 6th to get to I25 and Yale. I too have a young son (in kindergarten) and can help you locate an area that would meet your needs.

There are quite a few great communities. SW seems like it would be a good area close to work and relatively close to Boulder. I have lived and worked in the area for most of my life and could help you identify areas that would be a good fit.
