Well, ask the "Wolf" or the "Unidread" or the world famous Willie Terry-they'll tell you what it's like to "iive" on Ponce De Leon Avenue. They are all legendary Ponce street characters, and depending on where you might want to live on Ponce, you just might become very familiar.with these gentlemen.

If you are thinking of buying property directly on Ponce De Leon Avenue, then the best section would be along West Ponce De Leon, past Eastlake and West of Adair in Decatur. Look for property set back from the street, don't buy near a major intersection or next to a railroad.

Some of the Druid Hills area townhomes set back from Ponce are pretty nice, East of Briarcliff.

Otherwise, between Briarcliff and Spring Street, you are making a lifestyle choice, not a real estate investment.

Stumbling distance to the Clermont Lounge and the Drunken Unicorn is a cool lifestyle choice...

I agree with the Intown Insider - if you are looking South of Briarcliff/Monroe, it is about lifestyle not real estate investment. There are a ton of great condos and townhouses in that area, with all of the live-work-play style of living. Plus with the plans for the removal of City Hall East, some new green-space is coming that way. North of Briarcliff/ Monroe is where you find the single-family housing - Druid Hills, Decatur, etc. areas are all popular, with fantastic charm and good schools. Again, stay off the busy interesections and away from on the street - it all depends on how you want to live and/ or invest. Good luck!

It depends where you are living on Ponce. There are many nice condos/townomes and some absolutely beautiful homes in the Decatur and Druid Hills parts of Ponce. It also depends on the construction of the property and how far it sits from the street. Some parts of Ponce are busier/nosier than others-street traffic and foot traffic(check Lee's response) so that can also affect property value.
