Bill, this is a great question. Both communities have very active social lives for the owners. Check out the schools if you have children to see which you prefer. Orange Park Country Club is more centrally located to downtown Jacksonville. Both communities have major shopping within 15 minutes, but Orange Park CC has the edge if you like convenience. Green Cove is a sleepy little town that is waiting to 'wake up' when the market rebounds and all the development on the books happens. When the outer beltway is finished, Magnolia Point will have an advantage as far as quick access to I-95. If you like a more rural setting, then you might prefer Magnolia.
There are other communities that have great golf like Eagle Harbor and Fleming Island Plantation. Margaret's Walk is part of Fleming Island Plantation but is gated (not guard-gated). If you want guard-gated and don't mind traveling to play golf, then Pace Island is beautiful. You can join Eagle Harbor or Fleming Island.
Let us know if we can help you.
It really depends on your needs, if you want to be closer to Fleming Island which has better shopping and schools then Magnolia Point is a great buy. There will be a lot of growth in the Green Cove Springs area in the next 10 years so it may be a great time to purchase a home in that area. Orange Park Country Club is beautiful, but is in a much more congested area. If you are looking at a gated community, you may want to look at Pace Island, it is beautiful and established but does not have a golf course. The prices have come down a lot but the neighborhood is still a desired place to live.

Personally, I think living in Orange Park Country Club offers more conveniences. The biggest question would have to be your lifestyle. Would you be empoyed in Jacksonville? Or not working at all? Magnolia Point is off the beaten path out in Green Cove Springs, and is certainly a long drive to shopping and entertainment in Jacksonville. Profiles for each community are availabe on the link below.

Hi Bill,
i would recommend Magnolia Point. My reasons include a better value overall, excellent golf if you ar interested in golf, friendly neighbors and wide variety of home styles to choose from.
I also like Green Cove Springs vs Orange Park because of traffic. Although Orange Park is closer to Jacksonville US 17 and/or Blanding Blvd. will back up for miles if there is an accident on I-295. From Green Cove Springs you can choose to bypass the snarls by crossing the river with the Shands Bridge and an easy run from there up to Southpoint and downtown or you opt to go up Brannan Field to I-10 into downtown and on to Southpoint. Either route is a winner.

Hi,
I live in Magnolia Point. I really don't know much about Orange Park CC except that it is off of Blanding Boulevard and traffic is horrible. What I like about MP is that it is out of the main drag of OP, but still plenty close to things. I guess it depends on your needs. I don't mind not being in the middle of a city, I like the trees and space (especially in the older section of MP). The people are very nice, the golf course is good and it is more peaceful. I hope that helps a little. I have lived in MP for almost 5 years and love the area, people and amenities.
