Do residents maintain their homes and lawns? Are there dramatic differences between different neighborhoods or zip codes? Is there a dominant architecture throughout the city?
Naples is a very clean area with a super quality of life. Since Naples is in a subtropical environment there is lush landscaping.
Residents take pride of ownership very seriously. Collier County has strict codes and an excellent code enforcement department, which monitors neighborhoods to insure compliance with codes.
In Naples you can find expensive high-rise condominiums along the coast or travel inland about 6 miles and find single family homes on lots ranging in size from 1.14 acres to 5 acres.
Naples is beautiful! Clean, green, 11 miles of white sandy beaches, lots of shopping, movie theaters, great restaurants and has anything you need. It is Paradise! I came here 38 years ago and still love it.
People take great care of their homes and lawns. A lot of different neighborhoods with different architecture.
Stephan,
Let's break it down and keep it simple:
Climate: enchanting
Quality of life: it keeps people coming back
Social and Cultural Activity: surpasses all expectations
Employment: many opportunities
Traffic: unbearable during the tourist season
Real Estate: moderating prices, great time to buy
City: fresh, clean, modern
Beaches: among the best in the world
Opportunity: you can be as busy as you desire
Happiness: bring your own...the rest is included
It doesn't get much better........

One word: EXPENSIVE!!! Also rude people and more traffic than NYC. It literally takes you 30 minutes to go 1 mile during season. The beaches are nice though.
Hello Stephan,
Well the areas of Naples, Marco Island, and Bonita Beach have been world renowned as the paradise coast and for good reason! Not only are our white sand beaches spectacular, but the luxurious landscaping throughout Naples is also quite appealing. We really have the most beautifull medians I've ever seen, and I've lived here for 22 years and traveled to most areas of Florida. We really have a mix of architecture here. Everything from Mediteranean to Old Florida(Key West) style, to Bermuda, West Indies, as well as Spanish and a little French Colonial!
It's a wonderful place Stephan and we welcome you in our little town.
Take a quick look at my website which show recent sales for most of SW Florida's communities at http://www.napleshomepage.com/recent_sales_menu.htm
I use Google Maps so you can look at different communities using http://www.napleshomepage.com/google_community.htm
Let me know if you're planning a visit

Sterile; an endless succession of look-alike shopping plazas. My mother lives there. It's clean and sunny but truly soul-less
As a newer resident (last for years) the best way to describe Naples is , it is like waking up in Paradise every day. Naples is broken up into several different communities, that were developed around golf courses or boating communities. There is a community for everyone, accoriding to individual tastes. Lawn are usually maintained by community associations which are taken care of by fees. The predominant architecture is the typical Florida style concrete block and finished with stucko. They keep the house cooler in the summer and warmer in the winter . this theme is carried out through the city.
Naples is one of the most desirable area in Southwest Florida. From over 100 challenging golf course designed by the world's leading golf architects. Mesmerizing sunsets, sparkling sandy beaches and light gulf breeezes with over 11 miles of beach and natural perserves. City has many art galleries and theaters. World class entertainment at the Naples Philarmonic Center
