Can you describe how Margate looks and feels for a person that has never lived here?

Do residents maintain their homes and lawns? Are there dramatic differences between different neighborhoods or zip codes? Is there a dominant architecture throughout the city?

Hi Stephan,

One of the best ways to learn about a city from a distance is to check the city's site - please check it:

Also, if you have an address for it, you can check its school system by going to: - go to school locator enter the address and once you retrieve the school's name, go to school information and you will see the score for it.

Is it going to be a vacation home for you or are you been transferred there for work? Do you golf?

If you need any assistance on finding a property in Margate or any other city in Broward County do not hesitate to contact me.

Most of the city was built circa 1975. Homes are on the low end of the current price range(130-160K) on eastside of town. Not an upscale city. Shopping center are old and run down.

Margate, known as the "Gateway to Western Broward County," is home to working-class families who take pride in their communities. The homes in Margate are well-maintained and follow the ordinances of the city.

Residents in most areas of Margate are required by covenants and restrictions to upkeep their lawns and houses. A lot of the homes are along golf courses and there is not much difference between zip codes.
