Can i ask questions not related to real estate?

Fundamentally, everything is real estate related, in some way. But definitely stick to the guidelines. If it fits in the list along the left side, you can generally ask it, such as entertainment/nightlife, - want to know a good club in an area? I do not see why you could not ask that in there.... stuff like that.

Trulia is a Real Estate site but you can ask questions about a certain area or happenings in certain area and you should receive answers. I asked and answered questions about all kinds of subjects.
