Can I get my Section 8 rent lowered by appealing ?

I want to appeal my recent increase in my rent.

How long have you lived in the unit? How much did the rent increase. Section 8 usually has a standard maximum yearly increase.

I have lived in this house 7 years the landlord has made no upgrades since I'VE lived there. I provide own stove & fridge and pay all utilities except water & sewer/garbage. Increase went from $453.00 to $657.00 my portion. Rent went from $1,090.00 to $1,300.00 the market rent in my zip code for 3 bdrms is $1,080.00
