As Mike Pennington with Maxsel asked, what is affordable for you? If you have money to put down you might qualify for a REVERSE MORTGAGE. The REVERSE has no payment.

I agree wiith David: the city/county planning and zoning dept is the best source for that information. The reason why is that's the agency responsible for approving such plans. If there are any approved plans, then you could also check with the county clerk of courts records to see if any permits have been pulled recently for that parcel.

I also agree with David in that I doubt there'd be any construction going on right now, because many commercial lenders aren't doing as many (if any) A&D loans (which are used to fund such projects).

Towne Lake was a planned community that has been established for years. I have not heard of any plans as you described. I highly doubt there will be any construction occurring for that reason, but you could check with planning & zoning to see if there have been any site plans for that type of a project submitted for approval. city and county officials would be aware if there are any plans like that.
