I agree with Charles, San Jose does have very distinct areas, and the outlying areas even more so. A really good agent can help you learn about each area and find the right one for you.

My husband got his undergrad degree at SJSU and while some of the "burbs" look similar at first, the bay area weather makes East and West San Jose different when the fog rolls in. All of that matters when buying a home.

You definitely have distinct neighborhoods within San Jose. Is there an area that you have an interest in? East San Jose, West San Jose, North San Jose & South San Jose, they all are comprised of different neighborhoods, good & bad in each.

Have a great day!

There are no distinctions between many of the neighborhoods; no lines drawn down the street seperating one from another.
Fourty years ago, there distinct housing complexes and Developments.
Then, they grew together forming a vast metropolitan area.

Perhaps you should tell your Buyer's Agent exactly what you are looking for and they can find it for you.

Good luck and may God bless
