Yes. There is Kennecott Minerals gold mine located in Ridgeway near the Richland, Kershaw and Fairfield county lines. There is also several granite quarries in the area including historic Winnsboro Blue Granite at the intersection of HWY 321 and HWY 34. There is also the Rion quarry off of Hwy 213(??). There is a mine in Ridgeway SC, but I dont know a lot about it. Hope this helps.
