I'm looking in several cities to buy REOs. Are there any good internet sites where I can do research on a city to find out where the medium, high and low priced homes are? Also crime stats?
Hi Pamela,
Don't be confused by the hype about different leads and sources for 'forclosure' properties. If a home is for sale it's almost always listed by the local Multiple Listing Service. This includes short sales & REOs'. Most agents offer listing search tools on their websites for their local markets and the big national home search websites typically get their information from the local MLS feeds. The best way to get the most current market information is to work with a real estate agent. Also, don't overlook good, competitively priced homes that are for sale by owners that aren't financially distressed.
As an agent in both California and Nevada I post thousands of listings from Venice to Las Vegas on my own website. Here's a link to a good free tool that I offer which gives you a detailed report on local real estate market conditions and community information for most neighborhoods in L.A. & Orange Counties, San Bernardino, Riverside, & Southern Nevada.

Please feel free to contact me for more information about investment opportunities in these areas.
Best of luck.
Hi Pamela,
I work in the Antelope Valley area and have been a resident here as well. The answer below is a good starting point. If you are not already working with a realtor and would like to discuss the possibility, please give me a call or email me.
Have a great day!
Hi Pamela,
Find a good Realtor® in your area and have them email you properties with active comps.
For city stats I use the following just to get an idea.
http://realestate.yahoo.com/neighborhoods
http://www.neighborhoodscout.com/neighborhoods/
It's much easier if you talk to the home owners in the area or go to the nearest police station.
Pamela, can you give us an update of other websites you found out of.
Thanks,

Hello Pamela,
I am a local Realtor with 5 years experience and 20 years residency in the Antelope Valley. While I always suggest doing your homework, sometimes you need to add the experience and expertise of a Realtor into the mix. Usually websites are based on nationwide information, using statistics, etc. A local Realtor drives these streets each day and can help based on your own preferences...a more personal touch.
Remember one of the most important sayings in Real Estate is "All of Real Estate is local". Our area is very unique and that has to be taken into consideration. You wouldn't look to the National News to see what is happening down the street would you?
Should you find that you would like more information, please feel free to contact me and I will help you find what you are looking for.
Best wishes in your search!

Hi, Pamela,
Try http://www.city-data.com, they have pretty good in depth information about each city. You just put the city name in the box, and search.
Hope this helps.
