Most of the Marines (11,000) are to arrive by 2010, with about 7,000 going to Camp Lejuene, 4,000 to Cherry Point, and about 500 to New River Air Station...Alot of the higher ranking personnel are already arriving...So you can expect home prices to escalate over the next two yrs

FYI the influx has already begun! There are two new wings being stood up on new river within the next two months. Also, the influx of civilian support to Lejeune has already begun. To top it off there is a waiting list on base for housing of 6mths - 1 year!
The influx is already upon us! For those coming to the area, we have a rental shortage because of all the new people being assigned here. However, it is a great market for buying because there are many homes on the market to choose from and many sellers are willing to negotiate. Our area is less impacted by the subprime market situation and other issues than some other areas of the state and country because of our great military presence here. They are the best!
