I'm sorry but if you are getting evicted how will we be able to get you approved for a new place when you cannot pay for the place you are in now?
Evictions are very hard to overcome when looking at renting another property.
If I were you I would look for some red for rent signs and talk to landlords that don't have enough sense to do credit or background checks.
Then make sure you pay rent before anything else moving forward. And if you can't pay rent move before they need to file an eviction. Then that will never be on your record.
I am sorry to hear of your dilemma and i do understand the frustration this must cause. Was the home awarded to you via the divorce or was it owned prior to marriage? as there are the question that will help to determine who do you disposed of properties in a community property state.

That is a tricky question has it has legal ramifications for you. If you stop paying rent and the landlord works soimthing out with the bank, you will be evicted. If you keep paying them and tehy are not using your money to pay the mortgage, then you fill ripped off. At least if you do not pay, you should put the money aside in case they do keep the house. And if you stop paying rent, that could push the landlord into foreclosure and may not be able to recover. You should ask your landlord their intentions in person. Then if it goes to foreclosure, the bank will then hire a local agent to sell the property, they will offer you cash for keys to move within 30 days and pay you usually $500 to $1000 to assist you in moving. Its one of thise things that eventually you will have to move, do you want to put up with this junk for 3-6 months or get it over and find a new place and get on with your living a peaceful life?... more
