Tax foreclosure homes are different than bank foreclosure homes (REO's). You'll not find them on HUD or VA websites, nor on bank websites, since they aren't foreclosures related to the mortgage.

Tax foreclosures are usually done by the municipality (city) that the property is in. Check the treasurer or tax collector websites for the major cities that you're interested in.

Typically tax sales will be held in an auction environment once or twice a year, and some will require you to pre-register and pay a significant deposit up front. Be sure to read all of the auction rules so you are qualified to bid.

Good luck!

I have the websites such as HUD and VA you can search listed in my website. Also, my company lists and sells thousands of foreclosed homes every year in the Dayton Cincinnati area. Click on the For Buyer tab or look for Free Foreclosure listings in my website. Buying a foreclosed home is different in that the banks make their own rules. You must have a pre-approval letter for a mortgage or cash in order to make a purchase
