Here are a few links to help you understand the process of purchasing a tax foreclosure-

http://www.treas.gov/auctions/treasury/rp/generalterms.shtml

If you would like to see a complete list of available Hud homes, foreclosures and short sales in Licking County, I would be happy to provide you with the information.

Best of luck,

Hi Annette,

You are still buying a house. So, you will what you pay if you bought a regular house. BUT.......you may be responsible for the seller's side of municipal taxes or fees.

Also, you usually can't inspect the house beforehand, can't have a mortgage or home inspection contingency. You will be buying blind. If this bothers you even a little bit, don't do it.

You may also want to find a local REALTOR(R) or real estate attorney who does these types of transactions to help you through it and give you the local flavor.

Good luck!
