renting a property on pre foreclousure,what should i do?

iI been renting an apartment for two years now the owner hasn't pay to the bank for six months,he said he doesn't want to loose the property,but my concern is that i been paying my rent and because this is not his primary property he may not apply for amodification.What should I do ;keep paying him or not until I find another place to live;I have awife and a 4 months old baby.

I agree with Lisa. Its time to start looking for a new rental. You may also want to be in contact with a title company to see if there was a notice of default filed and/or if there is a trust sale set. Then you will have a more accurate time line.

FIRST ANSWER

I would find another place to rent. You did not mention if the property is listed for sale, but if it is, you should contact the agent and find out if they know how much time you have until you need to move. The agent can probably help you find another rental or at least refer you to a property manager.
