is there anyway to see a house that is on forclosure and possibly buy it before it goes to auction?

Yes you can! The lender at times will prefer this option over the fact of letting it go into auction due to the fact that more money can be received during the sale. Depending on the state the owner in foreclosure can be sued and obligated to pay the remaining balance if the home doesn't sell for the amount still owed.

Yes, you can purchase a home before it goes to auction. It is generally a short sale and has to be approved by the lender. An agent can contact the lender or the homeowner for you.
