As you have seen there are several full time professionals in the Naples market ready willing and able to help you in your search. I would recommned you contact a couple qualified agents to interview them as to how they do business and to find a match to your personality and how you like to work.
I am in this business for the long term and enjoy the work involved and the pleasure of helping people realize dreams of home ownership and/or investment.
BTW, Dana should get Best Answer and more than just my thumbs up.
Elain, You are absolutely correct. I have even recommended agents from Trulia to buyers. My point was that it does not end with asking this question as no one is going to respond with "do not hire me"I'm totally unqualified". It's all going to be "I'm the one you want".
I wanted to point out to Lisa that much more than asking who wants to work with her, she should be doing things to determine who she wants to work with as there are many agents at Trulia. Things like you mentioned.
If I left the impression that all the agents here were bad or Lisa should use someone not from Trulia then I am guilty of a poorly written response. However there are (IMHO) many agents at Trulia that are not worth considering, just as there are some worth considering. Listening to them discuss their opinions of their own value is not how to find a good agent. .Research and Interview....... I should have just agreed with Dana, I might have gotten a best answer. ; )
Hi Dunes (and Lisa),
You make a few good points, but I have to respectfully disagree that asking agents on Trulia if they want to work with you is a poor way to find a professional. That's part of the value of the Trulia Voices community - it empowers you to "interview" agents before you decide who to work with.
Now Lisa can choose -- she can ask people for their track record, their experiences, success stories, and evaluate them on their USEFUL answers... not to mention check out their websites and get a sense of someone's working style. Which I think is a great way to find the right agent to help her make her decision. Plus, she can always ask to meet them in person now that she's saved herself a bunch of time!
Lisa, keep us posted if you find someone and a nice investment.
Lisa, Coming here and asking agents if they want to work with you may be the worst way to find an actual Professional. Of course you'll be flooded with enthusiastic replies. (It's how they make their money)
Cull the herd. Interview and research those you will work with, it's good business. Pretty much anyone can get a RE license if they want take a few weeks worth of classes, it is certainly not (having a license) an indicator that they really have any understanding of your requirements or goals.
This is some info for you from the State/Florida on how to get a license ... http://www.myflorida.com/dbpr/re/documents/FREC_FAQs_Final_R
... You can check licenses ect.. here.

If you are going to pay for a service then make sure you know what you are paying for and who is asking you to pay them. Research and interview, don't request Spam...

You need to be very selective about the agent you choose to work with. Purchasing a foreclosure is very tricy and complicated and you need to make sure that your agent is knowledgeable and experienced in this area. Trulia "Find A Pro" is a good place to look for either an agent in your area or an agent who can refer you to the right agent in your area.
Hi Lisa
Please contact me by email and let me know your criteria and I will have a top professional realtor contact you and help you out here.
Good Luck.
